Participants will be able to discuss the developmental requirements for synaptic connections, cognition and language; to discuss the information processing associated with learning versus mastery; to identify gender differences in information processing and linguistic expression; to discuss the key elements of learning a second language with respect to cerebral processing of receptive and expressive information.

Neurodevelopmental Disabilities (NDD): (a) Knowledge of normal growth and development, (b) Recognition of risk factors associated with NDD, (c) Approaches to primary prevention and health promotion, (d) Understanding of types and scope of NDD (cognitive, social, emotional, genetic), and (e) Assessment and treatment of NDD.
