Assistive Technology Lending Library

The Assistive Technology Lending Library contains many devices and adapted materials to assist a child with a disability to access his/ her natural environment. The assistive technology devices in the lending library were selected to allow a child the opportunity to interact and have control of his/ her environment. The devices also provide the means for children to participate in daily activities at home and/or school. The Assistive Technology Lending Library is divided into 8 categories: support and positioning equipment, switches, adapted toys, environmental control units, computers, software, communication devices, and adaptive materials. At the present time the library contains a variety of devices from the various categories.

Assistive technology devices and software are available for a 30-day short-term loan. The purpose of the lending library is to give children with disabilities and their families an opportunity to try a piece of equipment and determine if it is appropriate prior to the actual purchase.
